The Arab League Summit will be Held on 1st and 2nd November, 2022

The two-days Arab League Summit, 2022 will be held in Algeria. The Arab League is a regional body that consists of 22 Arab nations from MENA region. This year’s summit will be the first meeting of Arab League since the Covid-19 lockdown. This year’s summit will likely to be missed by six Arab leaders including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Instead these nations will be sending either their foreign ministers or delegates to represent them at the summit. Despite these six leaders, this year’s summit is expected to observe record participation from the Arab world to discuss the regional developments.

The United States’ Mid-term Elections will be Held on 8th November, 2022

The United States conducts its mid-term elections after every two years which means they fall in the middle of each president’s four years term in the office. This year the US mid-term elections will be held on 8th November, 2022 and the results of these elections will have a huge impact on the remaining tenure of Joe Biden’s presidency. In these elections, the candidates will be nominated for all the seats of House of Representatives and one-third of the seats in Senate. Although, the Joe Biden’s Democratic Party is leading in both houses so far, but the elections are expected to be a tight contest between the Democratic party and the Republican party.

Defence and Security

The Meeting of NATO’s Foreign Ministers will be Conducted on 29th and 30th November, 2022

Romania will host a meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Ministers of Foreign Affairs from 29th to 30th November 2022. The NATO’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg will be chairing the meeting that will be attended by NATO states’ respective foreign ministers. The meeting will take place in Romania’s Palace of the Parliament in the capital city of Romania, Bucharest. The NATO’s Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoana stated that the foreign ministers of NATO member states will discuss the energy security and the role of NATO alliance in defending the critical infrastructure, including undersea cables, pipelines and space facilities.

The Berlin Security Conference will Commence on 30th November, 2022

Europe’s one of the largest security and defence policy events, the Berlin Security Conference, will be held on 30th November, 2022. This two-days conference will be held in Vienna House Andel’s Berlin, Germany with Norway as the partner country to host the conference. It will be presided by Wolfgang Hellmich. The conference will be attended by the NATO’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg and various other high-level EU officials including the Vice President, Josep Borrell. The topics included in the agenda of the conference will be EU’s strategic compass, NATO’s strategic concept, development of space and cyber security, European defence and capabilities etc.

Trade and Economics


The Global Conference on Macroeconomic Statistics for the Future will be Held on 10TH November and 11th November, 2022

The United Nations Statistics Division along with the partnership with Eurostat will conduct a two-days global conference on the theme of “Macroeconomic Statistics for the Future”, which will take place from 10th to 11th November, 2022. The conference will be open for all the interested candidates on the basis of ‘first come, first booked’ basis. The conference will take place at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels. The agenda of the conference will include discussions on Sustainability and Beyond GDP, Digitalisation, Globalisation and Communication. The conference will be attended by over 200 high ranking officials from all across the world including politicians, academics, and officials from public development sectors.

The Annual G20 Leaders’ Summit will be Held on 15th and 16th November, 2022

The G20 is a multilateral platform that included 19 countries and European Union that represent more than 80% of the world’s GDP. The goal of this platform is to connect the world’s major developed and emerging economies to secure the future global economic growth and prosperity. The Head of the States/Governments summit of G20 is held yearly; and this year’s summit will be hosted by the Presidency of Indonesia in Bali, Indonesia from 15th to 16th November, 2022. The theme of this year’s summit will be ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger’. Three major sub-themes under the summit’s agenda will be global health architecture, sustainable energy transition and digital transformation.

Social Issues

The International Conference of States on 10th anniversary of the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of journalists and the Issue of Impunity will be Held on 2nd November, 2022

Under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a virtual international conference of states will take place on the 10th anniversary of UNPOA on the Safety of Journalists and Issue of the Impunity. This ten-years anniversary will be marked with reaffirming, recommitting and repositioning the efforts to advance UN plane. The international conference will be based on themes including protecting the safety of journalist, recommitting the political will to do so, redefining the purpose and allocating resources to advance the Plan’s objectives, preventing attacks on the journalists and holding those accountable that are responsible for attacks against journalists.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will be Observed on 25th November, 2022

After the United Nations General Assembly passed the resolution 54/134 in the year 2000, November 25th is observed as the day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women worldwide. The purpose of this day is to invite governments, non-governmental organizations and international organizations to come together and organize the awareness campaigns and activities to address the issue of violence against women every year on this date. The day is designated to address issues related to intimate partner violence, psychological abuse, harassment, child sexual abuse, forced marriages, human trafficking, female genital mutilation and child marriage etc. The aim of observing this day will be to remove the gender-based violence in society to achieve equality, development and peace.

Energy and Environment

The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict will be Observed on 6th November, 2022

Recognizing environment as yet another victim of war, the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict will be observed worldwide on November 6, 2022. This day was designated in November, 2001 by United Nations General Assembly through the UN resolution 56/4. The objective of observing this day will be to create awareness about the impact of war on environment such as torching of crops, pollution of water wells, soil poisoning and other long-term devastating consequences. This day will recognize that with natural resources and ecosystems being destroyed, there can never be a chance of sustainable development and lasting peace.

The 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will Take Place from 7th November to 18th November, 2022

The UN Climate Change Conference, 2022 (UNFCCC) will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt and will be hosted by the government of Egypt from 7th to 18th November, 2022. Along with the Conference of Parties, the meeting will also serve as the seventeenth session of the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 17), and the fourth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA 4). The hosting presidency of Egypt, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stated that the COP27 will be an evidence that the existential threat of climate change can be addressed and overcome by joint action and implementation through showcasing collective unity.
