The organization known as DAESH or IS has become the foremost violent non-state actor promoting acts of terror around the world. While currently under pressure in its stronghold of Iraq and Syria where it is steadily losing territory, personnel and finances they have still managed to export their brand as well as terror attacks around the world. In South Asia, Afghanistan and the relatively stable Bangladesh has become the hub of Daesh activity in the form of violent attacks. Many commentators assert that the Eastern part of the Sub-continent i.e. North East India and Bangladesh will become a stronghold of Daesh. The brief analyses the presence of Daesh in both India and Bangladesh and also the assertion that the next great mass attack on Indian soil will come from Daesh cadres in either Bangladeh or India.
