ParisDeal, COP21, ClimateChange

The Paris Agreement aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the ability of states to adopt environment-friendly policies and machinery by making finance flows consistent with a pathway towards low greenhouse gas emissions and climate resilient development by 2020. Uptill now, 25 states, including China and the USA, have ratified the pact which has increased the possibility of the pact coming into force by the end of this year. The CSCR has produced a research brief which provides the background of the agreement and discusses the previous failed attempts to draft a Paris-like universal agreement. The brief discusses the pros and cons of the agreement and the impact of the deal on various sectors.
