"Devising the narrative of Pakistan for internal and external consumption."

CSCR Mission Statement

CSCR Introduction

The Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research (CSCR) is a policy institute in Islamabad that projects strategic foresight rooted in academia on issues of significance for the civil society stakeholders, the policy makers, and the state officials. Through the cardinal nodes of consultancy, advocacy, and lobbying, the CSCR has been instrumental in bringing a positive perceptual shift within the targeted segments to help them understand the policy choices facing Pakistan and other countries.

Established in 2014, the CSCR also provides customised intellectual assessments to the policy elites, backed by primary and secondary research, including the organisation of national seminars, and closed door in-house sessions on contemporary matters of importance.

CSCR History

The realisation of the disconnect between the policy making circles and the academia in Pakistan was felt by a group of professionals having background in social sciences, finance, and engineering, etc., who started amassing young opinion makers to tender their writings on matters afflicting Pakistan and the world at large. This exercise culminated in the inception of an electronic magazine named Stratagem in 2014, which was later subsumed in the newly formed larger organisation construct of the Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research in May, 2015.
